I tried to imagine what going to this wedding would be like. Would I show up and be met with a room full of people that knew we didn't like each other? What would they say? Would I hate the whole thing and have to go home and cry? Perhaps I'd have one too many drinks and end up doing the worm in the middle of the dance floor and ruin the first dance... 💃

But ultimately what sat behind my wall of humour was the feeling of hurt. That they wanted me to be there for their wedding, but they didn't really want me in their life.

I said to my husband Tom as we walked home one night "I know I'm really fun at a wedding, but I don't like feeling like I'm being wheeled out for weddings and funerals..."

and Tom responded with "that would make a great name... more

Lyrics

magine me, eight months time, at a wedding that isn't mine, sitting with the ten girls who blocked me.
Imagine me, sitting there, watching all the white you wear, knowing I was red for months with the grief.
I've built this life I've made it tall, had to process all you stole, made myself something better something free.

So wheel me out for weddings and funerals, oh god aren't I fun for the night!
and when the parties done and you've all had your fun I'll probably go home and cry!
Let's not lie.

Karma comes in special ways, like the day Fran called to say, you kept telling people we'd "drifted"
I bet it's fun for you to frame everything in that way, you cant go to court if the crime's unlisted.
You cut me down, made me feel small, I held myself tight through it all, now you're asking me to throw confetti?

Well wheel me out for weddings and funerals, oh god aren't I fun for the night!
and when the parties done and you've all had your fun you'll hate that I stayed all night, lets not lie...

God, I know you're stupid, god, I know I'm fun, I once ached for a wedding but not this one.
I'll turn water into wine I'll dance and I'll scream "you were the problem, you were the problem not me..."
cos I'm perfect , no I'm perfect, no I'm perfectly fine.

So wheel me out for weddings and funerals, oh god aren't I fun for the night.
And when the parties done and you've all had your fun I'll probably go home and cry.
Cos I wish we never had this fight.
